well, i remember this issue being brought up in the days before and after the election... that basically all the blue states (and thus liberals) were really paying most of the taxes, and all the red states were consuming the free resources provided by those taxes.
The real hypocracy, though, comes from the moral stuff, IMO. The fact that the lowest divorce rate is in Mass. is something that I find very significant, since the Conservatives are always screaming to high heaven about the moral bankrupcy of liberals.

the divorce thing is interesting, but what bothers me is that a question of divorce/no divorce is admitted so heavily to begin with, into a discussion of ethics or morals
it's like, OK, explain to me how staying in or abandoning a personal relationship becomes perhaps one of our most valid 'tests' for morality...i'm not saying ethics are uninvolved in issues of divorce, but jeez, there's gotta be more important settings to talk about
it's a similar theme when people like Howard Stern become focal points in discussions of morality...gets people going, but maybe not the best level of debate
